Roadmap Overview
The LYS Protocol's roadmap for 2024 and beyond is structured to progressively enhance the platform's capabilities, expand its ecosystem integrations, and solidify its position in the decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape. As we enter Q3 2024, the protocol is advancing into more sophisticated phases of development, focusing on expanding utility, integrating new features, and improving user experience. Below is the updated roadmap:
Phase 1: Foundation and Initial Launch
Phase 1 is crucial as it lays the groundwork for the LYS Protocol, establishing the core functionalities and setting the stage for future developments. This phase focuses on deploying the fundamental components of the protocol, enabling initial user interaction, and building the essential infrastructure that will support subsequent phases. Below are the key elements that should be included in Phase 1:
1. Token Minting and Conversion Mechanisms
Mint whyETH Using Native ETH:
Implement the ability for users to mint whyETH directly using their native ETH. This foundational feature will allow users to stake their ETH in the LYS Protocol and receive whyETH, a flexible token representing their staked assets.
Mint whyETH Using Major Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs):
Enable the minting of whyETH using major LSTs available in the market, such as stETH (Lido), rETH (Rocket Pool), and cbETH (Coinbase). This will give users who already hold LSTs an easy way to convert their staked assets into whyETH, enhancing liquidity and usability.
Mint whyETH Using Major Restaking Tokens (RLTs):
Integrate support for minting whyETH using popular Restaking Liquidity Tokens (RLTs) like ezETH, rsETH, and eETH. This allows users to convert their existing restaked assets into whyETH, offering them more flexibility and potential yield opportunities.
2. Initial Reward Distribution System
Claim Rewards Accumulated on whyETH:
Implement a system that allows users to claim the rewards accumulated from their whyETH holdings. This feature will enable users to access the staking rewards generated by their underlying assets, providing an incentive for early participation.
3. Basic Portfolio Management Tools
Portfolio Dashboard:
Launch a user-friendly dashboard allowing users to view their deposited tokens, associated strategies, and accumulated rewards. This tool will be essential for users to manage their assets effectively and make informed decisions.
4. Initial Governance Framework
Staking LYS for Governance:
Introduce the ability for users to stake LYS tokens to participate in protocol governance. This early implementation will allow the community to start influencing the protocol's direction and decisions from the outset.
5. Security and Audits
Smart Contract Audits:
Conduct thorough security audits of the protocol's smart contracts before launch. This is essential to ensure user funds' safety and security and build trust within the community.
Initial Bug Bounty Program:
Launch an initial bug bounty program to engage the community in identifying any potential vulnerabilities in the protocol. This program will be vital in ensuring the robustness and reliability of the platform before it scales.
6. Community Building and Initial Launch Campaign
Community Engagement Initiatives:
Roll out community engagement activities to build awareness and attract early adopters. This could include AMA sessions, educational content, and social media campaigns to explain the protocol's features and benefits.
Liquidity Generation Event:
Host a liquidity generation event (LGE) to kickstart the protocol's liquidity pools. This event will provide an opportunity for early users to contribute liquidity and earn LYS tokens, fostering initial liquidity and participation.
7. Initial Exchange Listings
DEX Listing of LYS:
List LYS on major decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to ensure accessibility and liquidity. This will allow users to buy, sell, and trade LYS tokens, supporting the initial growth of the protocol's ecosystem.
8. Core Infrastructure Deployment
Deployment of the LYS Protocol Smart Contracts:
Deploy the core smart contracts that power the LYS Protocol, including those responsible for token minting, staking, governance, and reward distribution. This infrastructure is essential for enabling all subsequent features and functionalities.
Phase 2:
Mint whyETH Using ETH-Denominated LPs
Users can now mint whyETH not only with native ETH and Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) but also with ETH-denominated Liquidity Pool (LP) tokens. This includes LPs paired with ETH and ETH derivatives, providing users greater flexibility in utilizing their existing assets for whyETH generation.
Extended Reward Claims for Superfluid Staking
The protocol will extend the capability to claim rewards accumulated on whyETH through superfluid staking mechanisms. This enhancement will allow users to maximize their returns by participating in advanced staking strategies that offer compounded yields.
Staking of LYS Governance Tokens
Users will be able to stake LYS governance tokens within the protocol. Staking LYS will offer rewards and increase governance power, enabling stakeholders to influence protocol decisions and future developments significantly.
Advanced Treasury Management
The introduction of advanced treasury management features will allow for more efficient and transparent handling of protocol funds. This includes optimizing the allocation of resources to support growth, development, and community initiatives.
Implementation of the LYS Proprietary Smart Strategy
The LYS Proprietary Smart Strategy, formerly known as the Synthetics Strategy Harmonizer, will be fully integrated. This system will automate and optimize the management of diverse DeFi strategies, ensuring that users' assets are strategically allocated for maximum returns with minimal risk.
Phase 3:
Bug Bounty Program Launch
A bug bounty program will be launched to ensure the LYS Protocol's robustness and security. This program will incentivize the community and external developers to identify and report potential vulnerabilities, helping to fortify the protocol against potential threats.
Expansion of Ecosystem Integrations
The protocol will extend its integration beyond Ethereum, incorporating support for additional blockchain ecosystems such as Solana, Cosmos, and Near Protocol. These integrations will allow users to mint whyETH using assets from these networks, significantly broadening the protocol's reach and utility.
Advanced Analytics Module
An advanced analytics module will be introduced, providing users with deeper insights into their investments. This module will offer real-time performance tracking, predictive analytics, and personalized strategy recommendations, empowering users to make informed decisions.
Real-Time Anomaly Detection
A real-time anomaly detection system will be implemented to monitor the protocol's operations and user activities. This system will detect and alert any unusual or potentially malicious activity, enhancing the security and integrity of the platform.
Further Ecosystem Integrations
Building on the integrations established earlier in the year, the protocol will continue to extend its reach by integrating with more DeFi platforms, wallets, and exchanges. This will further enhance the utility of whyETH and LYS tokens, enabling users to interact seamlessly with a broader array of decentralized applications.
Future Phases: Beyond 2024
As the LYS Protocol continues to evolve, future phases will focus on further expanding the ecosystem, introducing new features, and refining existing ones. The roadmap will adapt to emerging trends and user feedback, ensuring the protocol remains at the forefront of innovation in the DeFi space.
